‘The River’ spin-off: Inside Cobra’s show
A spin-off about the character of Thuso ‘Cobra’ Mokoena from ‘The River’ titled ‘Cobrizi’ is in production.
The River alum Presley Chweneyagae who played Cobra is getting his own show.
THUSO ‘COBRA’ MOKOENA SHOW: ‘COBRIZI’
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela reports that the legendary actor who portrayed the role of Thuso “Cobra” Mokoena in The River is getting his own show titled Cobrizi.
“Cobra getting his own show. A spin-off about the character of Thuso “Cobra” Mokoena played by Presley Chweneyagae on the hit telenovela, The River, is in production. The show, titled “Cobrizi”.
Chweneyagae starred in the 1Magic’s cancelled telenovela, The River from season one to season six.
The award-winning show got canned in February 2023 after six seasons. Co-creator Phathu Makwarela from Tshedza Pictures production confirmed the show is ending on social media.
“Join us for our last season. The farewell season.,” tweeted the award-winning producer.
The upcoming show Cobrizi will premiere on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) in early 2025.
