Actor Jerry Mofokeng is set to appear in Netflix’s four-part comedy series Mabaso Family Reunion.
JERRY MOFOKENG: ‘IT WAS EASY FOR ME’
The Scandal! actor Jerry Mofokeng confirms to Sunday World that he will portray the character of Pastor wa Tsotsi (dishonest pastor) in Mabaso Family Reunion.
Mofokeng says playing the pastoral role was interesting and fun because these types of pastors are a reality in churches, especially in South Africa.
“Having to transform into this character made me feel like I was a part [of] exposing what happens within churches. And how corruption occurs in a religious space,” adds Mofokeng.
He was also able to play the role because he’s been exposed to church environments and pastors.
“It was easy for me to use what I saw and experienced to transform into the character. Actors are chameleons and can take what they have seen and experienced and use that to become a character.”
He also admits that the people he worked with on set helped him get into character. Because they were not afraid to play outside of their comfort zone.
Mofokeng also currently portrays the role of Neo Mokhethi in e.tv’s Scandal!
