SECOND SEASON OF ‘KINGS OF JOBURG’
TshisaLIVE reveals that the second series of Kings of Joburg stars begins on 27 January on Netflix. The first season ended on a cliffhanger and starred the Masire family played by The Queen actor Shona Ferguson, Connie Ferguson, and Zolisa Xaluva.
The Ferguson Films producer took to her Instagram account and posted: “Tik… Tok… We’re almost there. With the sudden and suspicious disappearance of the King of Joburg Simon Masire, the family struggles to adapt to a new king and new enemies in the City of Gold. Heavy is the crown, but it’s time to take back the city. Kings of Joburg season 2 is coming 27 January only on Netflix”.
“In memory of the most amazing human being I have known, the King of Joburg Shona Ferguson, aka Mr Sho, aka Uncle Sho. This is for you, my love. Hope you’re proud.”
Connie marked the first day of shooting by penning a heartfelt letter to her “angel”.
“Dear Sho. My angel, thank you for everything. Day 1 of KOJ on the first working day of the week was a success. You’d be very proud of the team. I certainly am. Long live my king, long live,” she wrote.

SEASON ONE OF THE NETFLIX SERIES
According to News24, season one of the Netflix show Kings of Joburg explored brotherhood and the effects of crime.
The Masire family still runs the city of gold despite being plagued by secrets, lies, and betrayals in season two.
The second season in the eight-part series picks up the pieces and maintains its position without Simon ‘Vader’ Masire (played by Shona Ferguson).
Foreigner Gomora actor Zolisa Xaluva, who plays Mogomotsi ‘Mo’ Masire will take over from his brother Simon following his sudden and untimely disappearance on-screen.
“Sacrifices are made and alliances forged as the family is hunted by new enemies while trying to maintain its position in the city of gold,” a press statement reads.
