Wesley Leong

Wesley Leong was incarcerated at the age of 15 in 1996 at Pollsmoor Prison. His early years were marked by hardship and adversity, but Wesley's spirit remained unbroken. During his time in prison, he discovered a passion for education and self-improvement, dedicating himself to reading and writing. Upon his release, Wesley has become an advocate for prison reform and youth mentorship, utilising his experience to inspire others to overcome their challenges. He is currently part of Restore’s research and reintegration project running in South Africa and he writes from a formerly incarcerated lens.
