Pirates have reportedly opened talks with Baroka FC with a view to signing National Under-23 star Goodman Mosele.

Mosele was named the PSL young player of the year last season and has continued to impress this term.

Orlando Pirates have a good relationship with Baroka boss Khurishi Mphahlele and could beat Kaizer Chiefs to the punch on this one.

Former Wits keeper looking for a new club

Former Bidvest Wits stopper Darren Keet has seen a potential move to Major League Soccer dissolve and is now eager to find a club in the DStv Premiership.

“Up until a week or so back a move to the MLS was in progress, but with travel restrictions due to Covid-19 there were constraints,” said Shaun Bester, the players’ representative.

“You can imagine for Darren, his wife and two kids travelling to the USA without any vaccination etc. The time for him to move was around March, but we haven’t been able to manage that because of the situation.

“In our conversations and meetings we decided it is best to look in the PSL and Darren has made his mind up that he wants to now play locally. We need to find him a club where their ambitions and Darren’s ambitions are a match, similarly to when he came back from Belgium (in 2016) and joined Wits during the Gavin Hunt era,” added Bester.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs willing to splash the cash

Sundowns and Chiefs are willing to spend big to secure the services of highly-rated SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule.

Mbule has been a key figure in the Under-23 side that progressed to the Olympic games and was on the bench for Bafana Bafana in their 1-1 draw against Ghana.

SuperSport have rubbished any suggestion that they will be selling players to Kaizer Chiefs but could perhaps be swayed by a large enough sum.

Amazulu buy their own players

Amazulu have confirmed payments made to the former club owners have allowed them to avoid having to sell Bongi Ntuli, Siyethemba Sithebe and Siphesihle Maduna.

“We were supposed to sell them during the previous two transfer windows, but that matter is settled now,” Sandile Zungu said.

“They are now firmly AmaZulu players and they shall remain so for the rest of their contracts, and as you can see we are utilising them, Sithebe and Maduna, very effectively. Ntuli is unfortunately injured at the moment.”

Striker Ntuli has been heavily linked with Orlando Pirates and a possible move to North Africa.
