Watch: Nurkovic opens his Soweto Derby account with stunning goal
Watch Samir Nurkovic score an absolute stunner to give Kaizer Chiefs a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby.

Samir Nurkovic was tipped to have a big impact on the outcome of the Soweto Derby but the Kaizer Chiefs striker’s stunning finish exceeded fans wildest dreams.
In a tense and tight affair Kaizer Chiefs pounced on a defensive error by Orlando Pirates.
Nurkovic was retreating as it seemed Pirates would clear the ball and the defenders were pushing up but he recieved the ball, onside, with his back to goal, it didn’t look like he could get a shot away but the Serbian showed sublime skill and great strength to hold off a defender and get a bicycle kick off and fire into the net.
Kaizer Chiefs held on to claim a 1-0 won over Orlando Pirates and salvage some pride after three straight defeats to their rivals.
Watch: Samir Nurkovic’s brilliant first Soweto Derby goal
Ahead of the Soweto Derby Nurkovic denied being frustrated by his lack of goals this season. His sublime bicycle kick stunner was just his second goal this season.
“Frustrated? Not at all, because it’s a big difference. Last season, when I came to the club, we had one and a half months of pre-season and preparing,” Nurkovic told the media.
“But the difference this season is that I missed a lot of games from the beginning, I just went from recovery treatments and sessions straight to the games.
“I’m happy that I am finally back and that I can help the team. Obviously, it’s not frustrating for me, I have to just work hard and hopefully the next game will be the game [to score].”
