Orlando Pirates vs FC Platinum: Preview, teams, kick-off and live stream
Orlando Pirates are in a desperate situation in the Caf Champions League as they prepare to host Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum.
Orlando Pirates have a bit of a hill to climb in the Caf Champions League, and will look to begin their ascent with a win against Zimbabwean outfit, FC Platinum at Orlando Stadium on Friday.
The 1995 champions returned with a solitary point from back-to-back matches against current title holders Esperance de Tunis, and find themselves in third place in Group B, with just two matches remaining in the round.
Their lone victory in this stage of the competition came against Horoya, who they beat 3-0 at Orlando Stadium.
The Buccaneers’ fate is, however, still in their hands, as six points will see them through to the next round.
Milutin Sredojevic’s men are up against a side whose defence they failed to breach in the reverse fixture in Bulawayo, as they had to settle for a goalless draw on that occasion.
They come off another stalemate in their most recent outing, sharing the spoils at home against Bloemfontein Celtic, with the two teams grabbing a goal apiece, despite the hosts’ overwhelming dominance on the night.
The Serb has noted fatigue in his charges, who have to take the field again three days after what was a physically taxing duel.
“Fatigue factor is of course there, because we’re having some test we’re doing and if I tell you that three players could not even conduct the test, which means they’ve already given everything and could almost collapse,” he told KickOff.
“But we are using all possible means to find ways to recover, refresh and recuperate them to be ready for Friday’s game.”

Pirates are likely to be without injured midfielder Ben Motshwari, but otherwise sport a clean bill of health.
