Breaking: Ex-Pirates star Lorch leaves Sundowns to join Rulani
Thembinkosi Lorch has reunited with Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Casablanca. The club confirmed the news on Sunday.
Former Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch has left Mamelodi Sundowns to join his former coach Rulani Mokwena.
Thr 31-year-old left the Buccaneers to join Masandawana a year ago but has found the going tough since Mokwena left the club in July. Lorch has made just four league appearances for Masandawana but failed to find the back of the net.
It was reported last year that Downs’ Sporting Director Flemming Berg was reportedly not in favour of adding the former PSL Footballer of the Year to the club. Having coached him at Pirates, Rulani brought Lorch to Sundowns and the winger had a decent start with the Pretoria giants.

With Manqoba Mngqithi taking over frim Mokwena, Lorch found game time hard to come. Sundowns current coach Miguel Cardoso has also left out Nyoso from his matchday squad which prompted the ex-Bafana Bafana star to leave.
On Sunday, Wydad confirmed the signing of Lorch from Sundowns on their X page. Before signing with Rulani’s team, Lorch was heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs in January but it appears as if Sundowns could not reach a deal with Amakhosi.
Mokwena a big fan of the hence he decided to sign the star on a six-month loan deal.
