The Chiefs, Pirates, Oswin Appollis saga heats up!

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates appear to be all-in on Polokwane star Oswin Appollis, who is expected to make a decision in January.

Oswin Appollis’ uncertain future has bounced between the Soweto giants.

The Polokwane winger nearly became a Kaizer Chiefs player during the offseason, but an absent Johnny Mogaladi, the club’s chairman, meant a deal couldn’t be signed off.

AmaKhosi were hopeful there would be no obstacles in the summer transfer window but now face stiff competition from bitter rivals Orlando Pirates, who are now favourites to land the Bafana star.

Appollis to Pirates?

Pirates are known to have a great rapport with Polokwane’s notoriously tough negotiator, Mogaladi, prompting many to believe that Appollis will be a Buccaneer in due course.

“Like I told you (last month), Pirates have had an advantage (over Chiefs) on Appollis because of the good relationship between the two clubs,” a SoccerLaduma source confirmed.

“It’s those kinds of deals between chairman and chairman and you can expect the move to happen in the coming weeks.”

Mofokeng to Europe?

The Buccaneers rising star Relehobile Mofokeng is attracting attention from none-other than Barcelona FC with a Siya source confirming that, “there have been enquiries from Barcelona on Relebohile Mofokeng,”

“The boy has been monitored by the coaches of the Barcelona B team with interest. They have been following him and made approaches with some of their contacts in the PSL, including certain coaches they know closely, asking about the player,” they added.

“He is a player with potential to play in some of the top leagues in Europe and the feedback has been positive on the enquires made.”
