PEARL THUSI: ‘AKA’S VOICE CONVINCED ME’
The media personality Pearl Thusi said she was inspired by Kiernan “AKA” Forbes’ bravery to do a Comedy Central Roast.
She’s about to face the ultimate comedic takedown in the Comedy Central Roast of Pearl Thusi.
Thusi tells Sowetan that that an internal dialogue with late rapper AKA convinced her to get roasted.
She says while she was pacing back and forth, thinking about what decision to take. She suddenly heard Kiernan’s voice saying to her: “What are you scared of? We’ve done this before. Am I going to have to bully you into doing the roast again the same way I did the first time?”
Thusi adds that after hearing his voice she had flashbacks on whether she regretted doing his roast five years ago and she didn’t.
She also admits that she wasn’t in a good place when the producers asked her the first time.
Thusi will follow in the footsteps of Kenny Kunene, Somizi Mhlongo, AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) and Khanyi Mbau.
