Sundowns to top R32 million offer for Sirino replacement?
Mamelodi Sundowns FC have been linked with another blockbuster big-money signing to replace one of their former stars!
Mamelodi Sundowns are working hard behind the scenes to replace Uruguayan star Gaston Sirino.
The attacking midfielder joined arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs following the close of last season.
Sirino made over 200 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns, scoring 41 goals while assisting 44 more.
According to the latest gossip, the Brazilians have already identified their preferred replacement for the 33-year-old South American star!
Masandawana are reportedly in talks with Azam FC over the signature of versatile 26-year-old midfielder Feisal Salum!
Sundowns set to table counter offer for Salum
“He is still in Sundowns’ plans. They have been talking to Azam since they showed interest in him. It will all depend on the next offer since the last offer was R32 million,” an insider told Soccer Laduma regarding the Tanzanian star.
“But I think the new offer will be a better one than the R32 million. You know Azam value Feisal very highly and they won’t let him go for a cheaper price. That’s why they refused the R32 million offer but Sundowns are looking at still bringing him in on board.”
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs endured a hot-and-cold transfer window, missing out on several key targets.
The Glamour Boys made big moves by landing master Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi as their new head coach.
The club also welcomed a host of new players who are already making an impact at the club however, they also failed to lure some of their key targets to Naturena.
And now, it has since been revealed that Kaizer Chiefs approached Stellenbosch for star man Iqraam Rayners however the Cape outfit dismissed them!
Kaizer Chiefs made Rayners approach
Despite putting a ‘Not for sale’ tag on Rayners, the Bafana Bafana striker completed a move to Chiefs’ rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Nabi was keen on Rayners and when Kaizer Chiefs enquired about him, they were told that they wanted to keep him, but to everyone’s surprise, he was sold to Sundowns,” an insider told Citizen.
“Maybe the Sundowns’ offer was too good to turn down. These things happen all the time in football.”
Rayners already has four goals in four assists for Mamelodi Sundowns this season.
