Both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are looking to bolster their respective attacks, ahead of next season.

Chiefs are waiting for a new coach in order to finalise player futures, while Pirates have already released two strikers.

It’s then no surprise that both clubs find themselves finding in the same market for attackers both local and beyond. The likes of Iqraam Rayners, Oswin Appollis, Ashley Cupido and Andy Boyeli. Pirates were believed to be fighting with Mamelodi Sundowns, initially bring Boyeli to South African shores. Furthermore, Chiefs emerged out of nowhere, with reports from outside the country reporting the deal was as good as done.

At one point Pirates were thought of as the team in the lead for Boyeli, over Sundowns. Chiefs were then supposedly close to sealing a deal for him. But now, according to Transfermrkt, the player will not be heading to Soweto, but to Sekhukhune United instead!

This is an interesting turn of events, considering how quickly the rumours to Chiefs were intensifying. There was also a narrative on social media that, Boyeli was spotted at Naturena. Then several journalists from the continent started reporting that he was not in the country.
