Mamelodi Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena has urged fans to turn up in their numbers for tonight’s match against Petro Atletico de Luanda.

The Brazilians return to Africa Football League action tonight when they host the Angolan giants at the Loftus Versfeld stadium.

The mega-money tournament, involving eight of the top teams on the continent, saw the Brazilians earn a comfortable 2-0 win in the FIRST LEG of the quarterfinals over the weekend.

Goals by Marcelo Allende and Thapelo Maseko were enough to earn a crucial away victory at the 11 de November stadium.

Mokoena makes plea to Mamelodi Sundowns fans

“Last year, when we played Wydad Casablanca, the fans let us down. They couldn’t sing the whole game,” Mokoena told members of the media.

“For us, when we play away, we can’t even hear our voices because the fans are singing the whole game. They’re booing us.”

“We look forward to taking this scoreline to South Africa but we approach it as 0-0 and a different ball game.” Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena told iDiskiTimes.

“My message to the players is to remind them about a game we played a few days ago in a cup match in South Africa and at halftime we were 2-0 down, came back in the second half to make it 2-2, so this is half-time of 90 minutes.

“So it’s important for us to stay humble, very focused, respect our opponents and the quality they have, play the game and not the scoreline.”
