The Buccaneers will be in Spain between 9-20 July, and four days into their pre-season there, they will face Israeli giants Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The fixture has been confirmed by the former UEFA Champions League participants on their website.

Maccabi Tel Avi finished third on the Israeli Premier League this past season, and they are one of the most respected teams in that country.

Their match with Pirates will take place in Marbella, approximately 1000 Kilometers from Vigo where Jose Riveiro was born.

“Maccabi Tel Aviv will kick off the pre-season training camp in Marbella, Spain with a practice match against South Africa’s giants Orlando Pirates on July 13th,” reads a statement.
“Coached by Jose Riviero, the Bucaneers who won the South African league title 9 times and reached the CAF Confederation Cup final twice (2015 and 2021/22) finished last season’s South African league campaign in the runners-up spot and 2 South African Cups.”
