President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a national state of disaster in response to the electricity crisis in his State on the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday.

Ramaphosa confirmed that he will appoint a minister of electricity in the Presidency.
This minister will focus full-time on working with Eskom to end load shedding.
Wasting no time, Cogta Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma gazetted the state of disaster regulations.
