In Group A, Qatar lost the tournament’s opening match 2-0 to Ecuador while the Netherlands beat African champions Senegal by the same scoreline.
In Group B, England crushed Iran 6-2 while the USA and Wales played out to a 1-1 draw.
In Group C, Saudi Arabia surprisingly got the better of Argentina by a 2-1 scoreline and Mexico and Poland played to a goalless draw.
In Group D, Denmark and Tunisia drew 0-0 while France hammered Australia 4-1.
