The Hot102.7fm radio DJ took to social media on Saturday to post a message from his ICU room on what is his 17th day in hospital after his most recent surgery.
The 53-year-old, who previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Hot919, said that the doctors were ‘happy’ with his progress and suggested he may well be discharged in a few days.

Pilgrim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.

Mark Pilgrim wrote: “Hospital Day 17.
“This is my daily survival kit: Netflix, Kindle, Rubik’s Cube, radio… and donut bum cushion (just keeping it real 🤪😊).
“Jokes aside, doctor happy with progress. It’s a waiting game as the body responds to the procedures they’ve done. Hoping just a few more days.”
